Meet the Pioneers of our mission | the Co-founders

  • John Nana Kwesi April was raised in Accra, Ghana, where he lived most of his adult life. Kwesi’s passion is to speak out about important socio-political issues in order to bring about change in our societies. His unique perspective derived from his battlefield experiences is to bring healing to people who have been through traumatic life experiences, particularly homelessness, as he lived through it himself. It is his life mission to inspire people to live their lives uninhibitedly.

    Using his theological background, Kwesi is a motivational individual who values dedication, service and excellence. With several years of experience in Property Management where he has the opportunity to connect with residents every day to inspire conversations, Kwesi, has an appetite for helping others maximize their potential.

    He is also the Co-Founder of a project that is focused on Housing, Employment and Education for people living in homelessness. Kwesi’s favourite quote is “Let’s get it done!”, he is indeed an action-driven individual. He is building TheViewPoint as a platform for all voices to be heard and to bring their passion and honesty to the table. When he is away from podcasting, you would find him looking for creative ways to build his social enterprises such as Saint April Soaps & Candles and Afroidentity – a pan-African-inspired clothing brand. Kwesi is passionate about sharing all this with our community.

  • Templeton Sawyer was an Employment Support Practitioner with Teamwork Cooperative, the host of Tweet the Leader in You podcast, and co-facilitator of the CEI and Teamwork’s Youth-Focused Community of Practice in Halifax Nova Scotia. He brings a great deal of lived experience to the table, and is a passionate Youth Advocate who seeks to help youth in both Nova Scotia and the Bahamas believe in themselves and increase their self-confidence through leadership and skill development programs.

    When Templeton thinks about the word inclusion, he has a passion to place action into including everyone. Templeton continues his inclusion advocacies through a Youth Focused Community of Practice which he Co-Author, this space provides service providers to grow and develop new strategies to serve youth and people in general.
