About Us
How it started
In October 2022, when Templeton and John took a walk in the park and shared their dreams and aspirations for making a positive impact. John brought a unique perspective to the table, as he had a lived experience as a refugee. Having faced the challenges of displacement, homelessness, and the struggles of adapting to a new country, John was fueled by a deep desire to create a haven for those who have faced similar hardships. He understood the pain, resilience, and strength of individuals who had to start anew, and he wanted to be a beacon of hope for them.
Meanwhile, Templeton had been working in the community for years as a dedicated community worker. His firsthand experience and connection with the people in the neighbourhood gave him a profound understanding of their needs, desires, and the struggles they faced. Templeton shared John's passion for serving the community and believed that by combining their strengths, they could make a significant impact. Together, they founded "Alive House," a visionary project with the mission to be a place of warmth, welcome, and a catalyst for transformation.
Alive House wasn't just a physical space; it was a concept that embraced life, resilience, and the spirit of community. Their vision was to create an environment where individuals could come alive, find support, and rebuild their lives.
